"RESPOND LIKE YOU TRAIN"

Members of the U.S. National Grid Institute provide training at in-person events and online.  If you would like to have a training event for your community, please make a request using one of the options available through the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

In-Person

In-person events typically come in two forms.  Classroom only, or classroom with field exercises.  These events can be shaped to support the training objectives of the event and roughly breakout into the following categories:

  • Overview informative brief about USNG suitable for all sectors of the response community and/or public.  Typically a one (1) hour event block - 45 minute presentation, 15 minute question period.
  • Classroom style training tailored for attendees and event design:
    • Decision makers: 1-2 hours
    • GIS professionals: 2-4 hours
    • First responders: 3-4 hours
  • Classroom with navigation/response field exercises.  Typically for First Responders and motivated GIS professionals who want to learn more about their emergency response customers: 1-2 days.

In addition to delivery of training events, members of the Institute provide USNG presentations at conferences on a variety USNG related topics.
